Voter registaration underway in Garoowe

Garoowe Mar 02, 2023 (QJ) – Today, the city of Garowe, the capital of the Puntland State of Somalia, which is the only district in Nugal region that has not yet conducted voter registration, officially launched the voter registration process.

The launch of the voter registration in Garowe was attended by various government officials including members of Puntland’s executive branch, the chairman of the Puntland Electoral Commission, traditional leaders, youth groups, and other community representatives.

The Minister of Interior, Federalism, and Democratic Development of Puntland, Abdi Farah Said Juha, who spoke at the launch event, called on the people of Garowe to participate in the voter registration process and work towards ensuring the safety and security of the capital and the voter registration teams.

The community leaders who attended the launch event also discussed the overall voter registration process in Puntland, including Garowe.
