US Airstrike targets Houthi positions in Yemen

Washington September 08, 2024(QJ) -The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) has announced that in the past 24 hours, their forces have successfully destroyed three Iranian-backed Houthi unmanned vehicles (drones) and two missile systems operated by the Houthis in Yemen.

CENTCOM stated that these systems “posed a clear and imminent threat to U.S. and coalition forces, as well as commercial shipping in the region.”

These actions were taken to ensure the freedom of navigation and to make international waters safe and secure, the statement added.

The Houthis continue to attack commercial and military ships in the waters surrounding Yemen, as they are acting in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza.
