Uganda detains 10 terror suspects
Uganda has remanded 10 people accused of sneaking into the country on a terror mission.
The nine Somalis and one Kenyan, were on Tuesday remanded at Luzira prison by Buganda Road Magistrate’s Court.
They had spent 13 days in police cells at the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) in Kireka.
The suspects had appeared for mention of their case when the prosecution requested the court to remand them to the main prison since preliminary investigations were not complete.
In response, Grade One Magistrate, Mr Simon Kintu said: “The suspects are remanded to Luzira prison until October 23, as the major investigations are still ongoing”.
