The Mounting Fear and Concerns of Al-Shabaab
After been sworn as President, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud distinctly stated that his government primary urgent focus is to deracinate Al-Shabaab group and their ideologies from Somalia.
After the 30 hours long of Hayat Hotel siege by Al-Shabaab Militants and the recent attack on the night of September, 3rd, , 2022 in which Al-Shabaab killed 20 innocent civilians and burned their trucks as well in Afar-Irdood, 35 kilometres South-east from Beledweyne, and fuel tankers they burned on the 4th of September while passing through Hawa-Abdi area, located between Mogadishu and Afgoye.
The public had been deeply concerned, angered and affected by the atrocities of Al-Shabaab group that created a massive public outcry and Members of The Federal Government of Somalia, who proclaimed in unison to be united and start fighting the extremists’ group and get rid of them for good.
The public angers and outcries plus the government officials held press conferences, and who has shared their deepest condolences to the families and relatives that had lost their loved once in the recent attacks of Al-Shabaab, adding that its time that Somalia has to start taking immediate necessary armed deployments measures to protect and counter the threats of Al-Shabaab has emotionally resonated and publicly echoed loudly.
After closely following the government messages and all the news concerning the civilians’ massacres that’s been perpetrated by the extremist’s group, Abdi-Aziz Abu Musab, Al-Shabaab Spokesman who spoke to Al- Shabaab affiliated media on Sunday, September, 4th 2022 said that they are not at war with Somali tribes. But, pointed out that there are undergoing joint plans between some of the government and Somalia clan elders.
Regarding the immediate response from the spokesman of Al-Shabaab who spoke through their affiliated media it appears that there is a mounting fear and concern that the group is feeling.
