The Healing Grail Of The Caged Birds

When I consulted with Sheikh Google, my mentor and a source of reference in the cyberspace.  He told me that a Somaliland girl at the age of seventeen is virgin and never kissed before, like the African Continent.  At the age of twenty, she is spicy and hot market for the diaspora in overseas, like India.  At the age of thirty is mature enough and fertile, like the United States.  At the age of forty is exhausted like the Continent Europe.  At the age of fifty is heard, but not seen like Siberia.  At the age of sixty eventually stops menstruation with a lizard  frozen brain.  Just a barren piece of land, like the Somali politicians.  At the age of seventy in between the Mosque ( Church ) and the home, like my better – half.  At the age of eighty is a hostage for amnesia and alzheimer’s disease, like our own uncle Tom.  Always investing in the wind of war, conflict,  chaos, and instability.  Sweeping our hearts with forks and knives and rehearsing that old paranoid policy of it’s late deceased Godfather.  Compelling us to recite repeatedly that nasty lyrics of the old vampire.  “ You are the sun, you are the moon.” That notorious voices which is still embedded in our memory.  Without teaching our school children the National Anthem of their country.  Acting as that beauty queen celebrity, and empty soul Lady, called Diva.  Which blackmails men with her beauty, and never says that is enough.  A Self – Absorbed saucy woman who always wants more.  A Prima Donna beauty – queen, gold – digger , selfish and greedy.

Dear reader, do you know what the Caged Birds is singing?  I know, It is reciting it’s  Holy Healing Grail.  History despite it’s wrenching pain, can not be unlived, but if faced with courage, need not be lived again.  Ngozi Adichie the Nigerian writer said, power is the ability not just to tell the story of another person, but to make the definitive story of that person.  You can write a script in your mind and force yourself to follow it.  You have to let yourself totally to be in the mood.  If you don’t understand, ask questions.  It is easy to tell when a question is coming from a good place.  Then listen some more.  Sometimes people just want to feel heard.  Here is to possibilities of friendship, connection, and understanding.  Because virtue is conformity of life and conduct with moral principles, moral excellence.   Dr. Maya Angelou who passed away in June Instant 2014, is one of the most renowned and influential voices of our time.  Hailed as a global renaissance woman.  A celebrated poet, memoirist, novelist, educator, dramatist, producer, actress, historian, filmmaker, and Civil Rights Activist once said, people will forget what you said, what you did to them, but people will never forget how much down you have made them feel. Bitterness is like cancer.  It eats upon the host.  But anger is like fire, it burns it all clean.  We must always be intolerant of ignorance but understanding of illiteracy.   Because some people unable to go to school because of financial difficulties, were more educated and more intelligent than college professors.  Some of her Quotes are : Perhaps free debate can not prevent bigotry, but by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry, and die.

It can introduce the idea that if we try and understand each other, we may even become friends.  A leader who tries to put a gag in the mouths of the Press and muzzles the media.  Shooting the messenger without studying the message.  He has something fishy in his heart, and his days are numbered.  Prejudice is a burden that confuses the past, threatens the future, and renders the present in accessible.  Music was my refuge.  I could crawl into the space between the notes and curl my back to loneliness.   (  me as Yusuf Dyer that is why nowadays I listen repeatedly to the song of Nimco Yasiin Dabeeylaha, not because I am in love, but I regard the song as an ironic expression of a figurative, metaphorical, and emblematic  lyrics standing for an out crying appeal , and a complain from the silent majority of Somalilanders.  Addressing directly  to the President of Somaliland, Haji Ahmed Silayo, I hope he could listen to the song).  Maya Angelou’s words have resonated with her audiences for years, as they were often full of inspiration and strength.   Dear reader,  I can feel and interpret why the Caged Birds is singing!   Put yourself in it’s situation, and you might hear the voice of God.   Because love recognizes no barriers.  It jumps over hurdles, leaps fences, penetrates walls to arrive at it’s destination full of hope.  Never make someone a priority, when all you are to them is an option.  DR. Maya continued saying, my great hope is to laugh as much as I cry, to get my work done and try to love somebody and have the courage to accept the love in return.   Nothing can dim the light which shines from a sincere heart.

Mr.Silanyo, the Caged Birds sings  a lyric that says: “  There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story within you.  There is a World of difference between truth and facts.  Facts can obscure truth.  I have learned that you shouldn’t go through life with a catcher’s – Mitt on both hands; you need to be able to throw something back.  Mr.Silanyo, the desire to reach for the stars is ambitious; but the desire to reach hearts is wise.  As Somalilanders, our mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive, and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humour, and some style.  Somalilanders do not trust people who don’t love themselves and yet tell them “ I love You “.  You can tell a lot about a politician by the way he handles three things: a Stormy Day,  when he loses his post, and when tangled with his opponents.  Without courage for patience, you can not practice any other virtue with consistency.  You can’t be kind, true, merciful, generous, or honest; and lacking all above, that is what makes you a coward and a liar.   Mr.Silanyo, Mr.Freddie L .Sirmans said in his healing quotes said, “ as a young child being punished as a bed wetter caused me to have neurotic symptoms for as long as I can remember.  Today I am over seventy two years of age , and for the last forty years I have used positive thinking as a tool to try to solve the riddle of my neurotic symptoms.  And after all of these years I have come to the conclusion.  You can’t solve the riddle, but you can face it down.  Another thing I have learned is the real hidden enemy is “ Unforgiveness.”There is hope and relief if you are willing to learn forgiveness.   My life long guaranteed holy grail positive thinking quote is : I can face and forgive all things, through God who strengthens me.”

Mr. our own John Kerry, if you don’t like someone , change him, if you can’t change him, change your attitude.  Don’t complain lately after the disaster of Malta.   You may not control all events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them.  Try to be a rainbow in somebody’s cloud.  As a doctor, if you have a patient; first give him the medication, then later do the paper work.  If you get enough, give some donations; if you are learned, teach the others.  Life is a bitch.  You have got to go out and kick ass.  Mr. Bixi, you are the sum total of everything you have ever seen, heard, eaten, smelled, been told, forgot, it is all there.  Everything influences each of us, and because of that we must try to make sure that our experiences are positive.    Mr.Silanyo, injustice to someone in somewhere, is injustices to everyone in everywhere.  I am grateful to intelligent people.  That doesn’t mean to be educated, intelligence means what you had when you were in your mother’s womb.  A wise woman wishes to be no one’s enemy; a wise woman refuses to be anyone’s victim.

Mr.Silanyo, when did a man with a pen and paper became a thief with a knife?  There is no light at the end of the tunnel.  Nothing will work unless you listen to the sincere voices. Listen to the crying song and the holy grail of the healing quotes of the Caged Birds.  Alas! Mr.Silanyo has forgotten that yesterday he was one of us.

Thank You For Being Totally Ugly.  The Three Piece Suit Is Yours and The Shame Is Ours.

Your side of the road is always dusty.
