TFG Threatens Payback for Suicide Bombing

Mogadishu (SDN) General Abdikarin Yusuf Adan (Dhegabadan) of the transitional federal government’s armed forces spoke to the press today where he took the opportunity to send his condolences to the families of those who died in the suicide bombing that shocked the city of Dhuusamareeb in Galgaduud region yesterday.

The General said the TFG’s army is prepared to retaliate against Al-Shabaab for the damage they have caused, he also promised the public that Al-Shabaab will never forget the retribution they will receive.

Aside from the tough talk, the General also stated that Al-Shabaab is in decline and these latest attacks against the public are merely a last ditch effort to save face. According to the General, the army is stepping up its operations in order to eradicate the remnants of the militant group.

The explosion that occurred yesterday targeted government officials who were touring the region as part of a plan to establish a local administration in the middle regions of Somalia to represent the interests of the citizens that live there. In total nine TFG officials are dead and many civilians were injured. Al-Shabaab has vowed to continue to attack the TFG and anyone who supports them.
