Speaker Madoobe meets with South West Opposition Candidates

Baidoa January 21, 2023 (QJ) – The Speaker of the Federal Parliament of Somalia, Sheekh Aadan Maxamed Nuur (Madoobe), met yesterday with representatives of the Southern Federal State Presidential Candidates Union and Southern Federal State Reconciliation Assembly to discuss the ongoing reconciliation conference in Baydhabo.

The focus of the meeting was on finding ways to successfully conclude the conference, which aims to bring peace and stability to the southern regions of Somalia.

Sheikh Aadan, along with several members of the Parliament, met with the representatives one-on-one and discussed the importance of maintaining security and stability in Baydhabo in order for the reconciliation process to be successful.

He also instructed the security forces to refrain from taking any actions that could disrupt the peace in the area, warning that any disruption of peace could harm the reconciliation process.
