Somaliland: Togdher Governor Explains the Reasons behind His Resignation-(Audio)

Hargeisa, 11 Jan 2014 (SDN) — The governor  of Togdher region Ahmed Omer Haji Abdillahi (Hamarje), has resigned his position in the mid of political tensions which has engulfed the Togdheer region and the detention of the former deputy of Togdheer region Mr. Guleed Dahir for second time just two days after he was released for incitement charges

In a press conference he held today, governor Hamarji has termed the reasons behind his resignation as a medical issue.

Togdher governor have submitted his resignation letter to President Ahmed Mohamed Mahmoud (Silanyo) earlier yesterday shortly before president Silanyo left for neighboring Ethiopia.

It’s not known if President Silanyo has accepted the resignation but unconfirmed reports say the head of state told the official to hold on until he returns from Ethiopia.
