Somaliland President Arrives In Turkish Capital for Official Visit –(Video)

Istanbul, Oct 02, 2013 (SDN) -On last night, Somaliland President Ahmed Mohamed Mohamoud Silanyo and his entourage arrived in Istanbul for an official visit to Turkey at the invitation of Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan. At about 12:20 p.m., Silanyo’s charter flight landed at the Istanbul airport. Somalilanders living in Turkey and senior Turkish officials welcomed the president.

On Tuesday President Silanyo and his entourage has left the country to Turkey after receiving official invite from the Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan.

President Silanyo told reporters shortly before his departure in the VIP Lounge at Egal international Airport “Prime Minister Erdogan extended me an official invite and my trip to Turkey will boost the already existing diplomatic ties between the two countries,”

Upon arrival Somaliland’s Foreign Minister Mohamed Bihi Yoonis spoke who spoke to Turkish national television told that Somaliland delegation is expected to hold talks with Turkish Prime Minister and deputy Prime Minister on Thursday at 11 a.m.

The delegation leading by Somaliland president H.E. Ahmed Mohamed Silanyo is accompanied by Commerce and International investment Dr. Mohamed Abdilahi Omar, Foreign Minister Mohamed Biihi Yoonis, Energy and Mining Minister Hussien Abdi Duale, president’s special secretary and the Somaliland First Lady Aamina Weris.

Prior his departure to Turkey on yesterday president Silanyo nominated National Committee that will take charge of fund raising for the construction of Erigavo-Buroa road.

According to press statement released from the office of the president stated that the presidential affairs minister Hon. Hirsi will be the chairman of the committee.
