Somaliland Poet laureate calls Presidential place in Gabiley useless

Hargeisa September 11, 2022 (QJ) – Prominent Somaliland Poet laureate Weedhsame raised questions about the need and benefits of building a presidential palace in Gabiley, which he said could use better schools.

Poet Weedhsame said that 80 students sit in each class in Tima-Cade Gabiley high school and that instead of building a Presidential palace it would have been more useful in building schools in the region.

Thousands of students would’ve benefited from improved facilities as Gabiley public schools buildings are in disrepair, and insufferable conditions added Poet Weedhsame.

Somaliland schools face combined challenges of deterioration and lack of funding said Poet Weedhsame, leading to serious debates and discussions on and offline.

Somaliland presidency has amid a severe drought launched building huge presidential places throughout the country, leading some comparing the current president Muse Bihi to infamous dictators.
