Somaliland: Minister of Energy in Italy for Renewable energy talks
HARGEISA— Somaliland Energy Minister Hon. Husein Abdi Du’ale who is on working visit to Italy has attended a meeting which was discussed in bringing a wind turbine to Hargeisa, Somaliland capital.
According to an Italian paper (Padovaoggi) stated that the minister is seeking an international investment when it comes to renewable energy to Somaliland.
The minister of energy, Husein Abdi Du’ale has held series of meetings with representatives of an international organizations based in Milan.
The minister has visited wind turbine producing factory ( (AGSM Affi (VR).
Hon. Husein, Somaliland’s energy minister held talks with Padua university professor Carlo Pellegrino, in charge of technology and environment.
It is now confirmed that the minister from Somaliland has attended a meeting which was addressed on energy and development of environment.
Countries from Sub Saharan Africa were in attendance and Somaliland’s needs of renewable energy were raised at the meeting.
Wind Turbine was displayed which could provide electricity to more than 20, 00 houses.
The plan is to bring the wind turbine generator to Hargeisa which hosts more than 1 million people.
Most firms both public and private generate electricity from diesel generated machines to provide the residents with high costs.
The energy minister from Somaliland is due to hold meeting with officials from the international cooperation of the ministry of foreign affairs of Italy.
The gist of the meeting is that the minister will seek for an international invest to Somaliland.
