Somaliland: Education Minister Lays Foundation Stone of New Boarding School in Gabiley

Gabiley, Jun 27, 2013 (SDN) – Somaliland’s education minister Samsam Abdi Adam today in an impressive function laid the foundation stone for a new boarding school at Gabiley city.

The event was attended among others by the Governor of Gabiley region Yusuf Ibrahim Gedi, Mayor of Gabiley city Shuaib Mohamed Muse, Chairman of Somaliland national examination and certification board Daud Ahmed Farah and Gabiley region education department officials.

The proposed Boarding school was funded by a US based international development organization known as Mercy Corps and was intended to be a teacher training school.

Education Minister Samsam said at the ceremony that the present demand was for a teacher training school is to produce talented teachers for Gabiley region and country as a whole.

Meanwhile, in a similar ceremony education minister has officially opened new premise for Ilko Weyne Primary School in Wajale district.

Speaking during the opening ceremony, the Minister said: “I welcome the opportunity to be here today to officially open a new school for Ilko Weyne”.

The new primary school at Ilko wayne was funded by Caritas another international development organization based in Switzerland.
