Somalia’s President attends AU summit

Addis Ababa Feb 18, 2023 (QJ) – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, is in Addis Ababa to participate in the 36th session of the African Union Summit.

The summit, attended by African Heads of State and other leaders, aims to review the African Union’s progress, the implementation of the AU’s 2063 Agenda, and the various challenges facing member states in achieving development, peace, and security.

The President will present the views of the Federal Government of Somalia on the future of Africa and Somalia’s efforts to combat terrorism, the successes achieved in stabilizing regions, and the importance of completing the state-building process at the regional level.

The President of the Republic will hold consultations with other African Heads of State and leaders participating in the African Union Summit.
