Somalia’s Intelligence and Security Agency arrests businessmen suspected of collaborating with the Al-Shabaab

Mogadishu June 01, 2024(QJ) -Somalia’s Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) has revealed a significant operation targeting businessmen suspected of collaborating with the Al-Shabaab group, while also providing financial support.

A statement released by NISA disclosed that NISA forces apprehended businessmen suspected of engaging in transactions with Al-Shabaab after they were found to have provided financial support.

The agency did not disclose the names or the number of businessmen apprehended, but it accused them of having connections and dealings with the Al-Shabaab group.

Additionally, Somali businessmen were cautioned against engaging with terrorist groups, with NISA warning that such activities would have detrimental effects on the Somali people.

NISA also urged the Somali population not to associate with Al-Shabaab and advised them to stay away from areas where the group operates.
