Somalia: Kismayo hosts a Humanitarian Partnership meeting

Kismayo June 05, 2023 (QJ) – Today, a Humanitarian Partnership meeting was convened in the city of Kismayo, the administrative capital of Jubbaland State of the Federal Government of Somalia.

The meeting was jointly attended by the President of Jubbaland State, Ahmed Mohamed Islam, and the Minister of Planning for the Federal Government of Somalia, Abdirahman Beenebeene.

The event was also attended by the Director of National Disaster Management Agency, Mr. Mahamoud Moalim Abdulle, Ministers of the respective regional governments, and Banadir Region, as well as diplomats and representatives from the international community.

The meeting focused on addressing humanitarian challenges and the plight of the Somali people, particularly in terms of droughts, famine, and displacement.

The discussions aimed to find solutions and provide assistance to alleviate the suffering of the affected population.
