SoDMA ships aid to Galmudug and SSC-Khatumo
Mogadishu December 31, 2023 (QJ)-The Somali National Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) sent a cargo ship with aid from the port of Mogadishu today to deliver to regions affected by conflicts, and floods caused by El Nino.
This relief aid is directed towards the regions of the Galmudug federal state and the newly formed SSC-Khatumo State of Somalia. It is planned that the aid will be transported to Bossaso Port, where it will then be distributed to the local communities.
Previously, the relief agency provided a significant amount of aid, including food supplies, to the populations of South West, Puntland, Jubaland, and Hirshabelle administrative regions.
The Director of SoDMA, Maxamuud Macallin, told reporters that both international donors and friendly nations have responded positively to the agency’s appeals for assistance. He further emphasized SoDMA’s commitment to reaching all regions in the country affected by disasters.
