SNA killes over 300 militants in weeks

Mogadisho January 25, 2023 (QJ) -The Minister of Information of the Federal Government of Somalia, Da’ud Aweys, announced in a press conference that over 300 members of Al-Shabaab have been killed in recent operations conducted within the country.

The Minister of Information, accompanied by the African Union’s envoy, Souef Mohamed El-Amine, stated that the operations took place in areas of Galmudug, HirShabelle, South West, and Jubbaland regions and that the military forces have taken control of new areas.

He also highlighted that the operations have now begun in the South West and Jubbaland regions, following the orders of the President of the Federal Government, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, to quickly initiate the second phase of operations against Al-Shabaab.
