SNA and AS clash in Ceeldheer district
Ceeldheer November 11, 2023 (QJ) – The Somali National Army, in collaboration with local forces, has reportedly carried out a planned operation in the Ceeldheer district of the Galgaduud region, eastern Somalia, where Al-Shabaab militants have been present for some time.
The Deputy Minister of Information for the Somali Government, Abdirahman Yusuf Al Cadaalada, stated that government forces, including special units, conducted the operation in Ceeldheer, targeting areas that were known to be under the control of Al-Shabaab.
The deputy minister mentioned that during the operation, the security forces engaged with Al-Shabaab militants, resulting in the killing of some insurgents and injuries to others. He also indicated that some individuals were captured alive.
It is expected that government officials will release more information as they assess the outcome of the Ceeldheer operation.
