Shabelle Valley Militias Murder Three in Somali Town of Beledweyne
Baladweyne — Fighters loyal to Shaballe Valley administration in Hiran region of central Somalia, have shot and killed at least three people in the town of Beledweyn, reports said on Monday.
Residents in Beledweyne town, the regional capital of Hiran, said Monday that Shabelle Valley fighters got three young boys out of their onboard car and shot them killed at Dhgax-Jebis Bridge as they were traveling from Galka’yo town to Somali capital Mogadishu, for suspicion of Al-shabab fighters.
Abdifatah Hassan Afrah, the president of Shabble Valley administration told reporters in Beledweyn town, that his security forces are waging major operations in the town,to assure security of the town as to protect Al-shabab militants.
Mr.Afrah also spoke about the killing of the three people in Beledweyn town, saying that the killed were Al-shabab, who cut off in central Somali regions, after they were drove out of Beledweyn.
Beledweyne town in central Somalia is about 30 kilometers from the border with Ethiopia. A commercial hub, it lies on a key road that links Mogadishu with northern Somalia.
It is the first major incident reported a day after Somali government soldiers, Shabelle Valley militias backed by Ethiopia’s military forced Al-Shabab militants out of the town.
