President Hassan back in Baidoa

Baidoa Feb 04, 2023 (QJ) – President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and a delegation he is leading have arrived in the city of Baydhabo for the second phase of the reconciliation conference for the South-West regional state. The President’s second visit to Baydhabo within 11 days is reported to be aimed at ensuring that the reconciliation conference being held in Baydhabo for the South-West political and social leaders bears fruit.

The conference is expected to conclude with President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud in attendance, and decisions will be made to resolve the conflict arising from the prolongation of the South-West administration.

Speaker of Somalia’s parliament, Sheikh Aadan Mohamed Nuur (Madoobe), who called for the conference, is optimistic about its successful outcome. While in Baydhabo, Madoobe held meetings with President Lafta Gareen and his opposition to discuss the acceleration of the South-West reconciliation conference.
