Police Commissioner Accused of behind the Release of Hubaal Attacker-(Audio)
Hargeisa, 01 Dec 2013 (SDN) -The Director and the Editor of Hubaal, Somaliland’s critical and much-beleaguered daily newspaper have accused the police commissioner for the release of the police officers who was one of the perpetrators of an April 24 attack on the owner of Hubaal media network.
In a press conference held today by Hubaal’s Editor Hassan Hussein Keefkeef and Managing Director Mohamed Ahmed Jama “Caloolay” in Hargeisa have said that the police commissioner Brigadier General Abdilahi Fadal Iman is responsible for the release of the detained attacker.
On Thursday, the military court in Hargeisa let go the police officer arrested in connection with the Hubaal attack through bail.
Both the editor and the director have also said that they will pursue the course of justice until the perpetrators were brought to justice.
In April an off-duty policeman and an accomplice attacked the offices of Hubaal, a newspaper, in Hargeisa, the capital. Its manager, Mohamed Ahmed Jama Aloley, was beaten and shot. He suffered a broken arm before colleagues could wrestle his assailants to the ground.
