Pirates face off with Puntland forces in Galka’ayo

Galka’ayo(SDN)-Pirates of the Somali enclave of Puntland pull-off a brazen attack on the Puntland armed forces in Galka’ayo.

The forces were conducting an anti Pirate activities in the area when caught of gaurd by the daring attack.

The Pirates ambushed the Puntland forces killing and injuring some soldiers according to eyewitnesses.

“The Puntland forces were conducting a sweep when they came under attack themselves and suffered casualties”said an eyewitness who spoke to us on the condition of anonymity.

The commissioner of Mudug which Galka’ayo is it’s capital Mohamed Yusuf Tigey said that their forces moved in after the public complained that Pirates were moving in.

Recent UN Monitoring Group report claimed the Pirates move around with impunity,while low level fighters go to jail.
