Mortars launched at Villa Somalia
Mogadisho Feb 01, 2023 (QJ) – Mortars reportedly hit neighborhoods close to the Presidential Palace of in Mogadishu, causing alarm among the local residents.
The missiles, which were fired from unknown locations within the city of Mogadishu, repeatedly hit the vicinity of the Presidential Palace, and it is not known if some of the missiles have hit the palace and other nearby facilities.
This mortar attack came at a time when the security of Mogadishu was significantly increased today, and many soldiers were deployed in the city and its surroundings to ensure security and prevent such attacks.
The Presidential Palace of Somalia has often been targeted by missiles, and it is usually said that the mortars usually fall outside the palace and mostly hit houses inhabited by ordinary citizens.
