Mogadishu’s largest Market gets shelled

Mogadishu February 06, 2024 (QJ)-Several mortars fell today in the Bakara market in Mogadishu, resulting in casualties.

The mortars hit commercial centers while many people were working there. Videos from the scene showed injured people calling for help.

About ten people were killed in the attack, and people with serious injuries were rushed to the hospital from the mortars that hit the Bakara market.

In general, the Bakara market has closed its doors, and it is not known who is behind the mortars, although the city of Mogadishu is not new to the mortar attacks, usually the shells land on Government facilities.

The security forces of the police have now started an investigation into the location of the mortars.
