Kismayo Police Catch Woman Wearing Explosive Belt
Kismayo May 01 2013 (SDN) -Kismayo interim administration forces in southern Somalia caught a woman wearing an explosive belt at the entrance gate of Kismayo University on Wednesday.
The police in Kismayo believe that the woman was meant to detonate the belt inside the university conference hall where the conference of the Jubaland state formation is currently underway.
The spokesman for the interim administration of Kismayo confirmed to SDN that the police have successfully removed the belt from the woman’s body and the woman was taken in for questioning.
The spokesman, Abdinasir Serar told SDN on today that the woman was captured after she tried to sneak through the entrance gate of the university. It is the second incident in which a woman wearing an explosive belt to carry out a suicide bombing against government officials captured in Kismayo since the AMISOM led forces overtook the city from Al shabab militiants last year.
