Israel orders residents of Khan Yonis to evacuate

Gaza August 12, 2024(QJ) -Israel expanded an order last night that was initially issued on Sunday, directing residents of Khan Yonis in southern Gaza to leave their neighborhoods. This order forced tens of thousands of Palestinians, mostly families, to evacuate in the middle of the night under the cover of darkness.

The Israeli military stated that it was targeting Hamas militants, whom they claimed were hiding in Khan Younis.

The United Nations reported that the majority of Gaza’s population, consisting of 2.3 million people, have been displaced from their homes, with most of their houses being destroyed.

Palestinian officials and the United Nations have emphasized that there are no safe places left in Gaza.
