IDF says four more Hamas held Hostages are dead

Gaza June 04, 2024(QJ) -The Israeli military has reported that four more Israeli hostages held by Hamas since October 7th have died, and their bodies are being held. The military identified the four men as Haim Perry, Yoram Metzger, Amiram Cooper, and Nadav Popplewell, all of whom had been shown alive in videos released by Hamas.

“We estimate that all four were killed in the Khan Younis area a few months ago… when [military] operations were conducted in Khan Younis,” stated military spokesperson Daniel Hagari. “We are thoroughly investigating the circumstances of their deaths and considering all possibilities.”

Last month, Hamas’s armed wing, the Qassam Brigades, released a video announcing the death of Popplewell, claiming that the British-Israeli citizen had died from injuries sustained in an Israeli airstrike.

The video was released amid increasing domestic pressure on the Israeli government to secure the release of the remaining hostages, estimated to be over 120.
