Houthis fire a ballistic missile into Israel

Tel Aviv September 15, 2024 (QJ) – A long-range missile fired from Yemen has struck central Israel, triggering alarms and causing panic among residents. The Israeli military reported that the missile activated air raid sirens in Tel Aviv and across central Israel, including Ben Gurion International Airport, prompting residents to seek shelter. Despite the alarms, no casualties have been reported, and airport operations resumed shortly after the incident.

Footage released shows parts of the missile landing on a power generator at the central Modiin train station. Following the sirens, the missile was identified as having landed in an open area in central Israel with no reported injuries.

Magen David Adom, Israel’s emergency medical services, stated on X (formerly Twitter) that nine people sustained minor injuries while seeking shelter.

Loud explosions were also heard in the region, which the military attributed to Israel’s missile defense systems intercepting the threat.
