Somali-land government issues television licences to the television channels operating in Somali-land, which is subject to certain conditions, that you must abided by. As universal television did not abide the conditions which is obligatory to be observed, the government has withdrawn their licence to work permit in Somali-land in view of not respecting the code of conduct and set of rules outlining the responsibilities of or proper practices in Somali-land and the mainstream of Somali-landers had supported withdrawing their work permit from S/L considering not paying to attention for the moral responsibility of the media.However, Few days Ago, Horn cable Television has broadcasted a programmes which is recognized as more dangerous and harm in comparison with the programme televised by universal television that its consequence has sourced withdrawing their work permit, as horn cable television televised a programme related Somali-land civil war which the people of Somali-land had healed its bad wounds.
That Civil War was tragic event in history, as the same has caused many bitter feelings and bad memories, which no one of us like to replay back and remind the public for such sorrowful memories. We consider the administrators of horn cable television and those participated directly or indirectly as pleased the Somali-land civil war that result human loss and property that cannot be compensated in terms of value . A lot of families that lost someone special to them during the civil war had to start to rebuild their life from scratch. The programme televised by Horn cable Television was coincided with the mass grave committed by the Siyad regime discovered from Hargeisa and its surroundings. This is another agony in addition to the mass grave discovered in Hargeisa. If the the death and destruction by such civil war has no sorrowful feeling, then perhaps the administrators of HCT appears to be glad for such bad memories.
It was agony which we cleared out from our minds. At present, since the current programme televised by Horn cable Television is recognized as much disgraceful than that of universal television, the government should take immediate steps similar to the measurements taken from the universal television, as the later televised a programme that made regretful impact to millions of Somali-landers. In the event, the government will not take immediate steps against Horn cable Television; the public will be obliged lobby boycotting entirely this channel in view of reminding the public the forgotten sad memories.In conclusion, the only advantage of a bad memory, it takes away our present cheerfulness. A bad healed memory from the society is like a deleted memory, as we replaced the said past bad memories with better prospects and enhanced future and therefore, anyone against the community coexistence, brotherhood and cooperation like Ibrahim Nour and Horn cable Television management must be isolated from the society. Good memory is the diary that carries with us for the foreseeable future and the bad memories are contrary.
