Hezbollah confirmed that they have been unable to contact a high-ranking member of the organization

BEIRUT (SD)-Since Friday, security forces and Hezbollah leaders have confirmed that they have been unable to contact Hashem Saffiedine, a high-ranking member of the organization. Saffiedine is a cousin of the late Hassan Nasrallah, the former secretary-general, and attempts to reach him have been thwarted by continuous Israeli bombardments since Friday morning.

Hezbollah is now appealing to the international community to pressure Israel to halt the airstrikes in the vicinity, allowing rescue workers to retrieve bodies from the affected area. The urgent appeal underscores the critical situation, as Lebanese officials and Hezbollah leaders seek intervention from other countries to force a cessation of the Israeli airstrikes to facilitate rescue efforts.

The situation is extremely dire, with Saffiedine’s name emerging prominently following the assassination of Hassan Nasrallah. Saffiedine, who has been groomed for over a decade to potentially succeed Nasrallah, is a significant figure within Hezbollah. His potential assassination raises serious questions about the organization’s succession plan and internal stability.
