Former Israeli PM warns against Rafah Attack
Tel Aviv February 29, 2024 (QJ) -Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert has warned that Israel could face serious consequences if its forces attack the besieged city of Rafah in southern Gaza, where more than a million people are trapped.
“The international community’s patience has reached a level where they will no longer tolerate the actions of Prime Minister Netanyahu,” said the former Israeli Prime Minister.
Olmert urged Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to halt the conflict and focus on a plan to withdraw Israeli forces from Gaza, instead involving international forces to ensure a peaceful resolution.
The former Prime Minister, who led Israel between 2006 and 2009, also expressed concern that the ground assault on Rafah could jeopardize the peace agreement between Israel and Egypt.
