Egypt concerned about Rafah invasion

Cairo May 08, 2024 (QJ) -Egypt has expressed political concern about Israel’s operations in Rafah, urging withdrawal from the area to avoid jeopardizing the lives of more than a million Palestinians, who rely on aid.
Egypt has shown significant concern about developments in Gaza. They share a border where part of Rafah is located in Egypt, and they control the entry point into that area.
Additionally, they warned Israel not to take any actions that would escalate violence, stating, “Efforts should focus on achieving a ceasefire.”
Israeli forces are now stationed at all the Philadelphi Corridor checkpoints along the Egypt-Gaza border. Egypt has said that if Israeli troops occupy these areas, they will consider it a breach of the peace agreement between Egypt and Israel known as the 1979 Camp David Accords.
According to the agreement, Israel cannot establish military bases in Zone D, which is a narrow strip along the entire Egyptian border.
