Dahabshiil Promotes Somalia over his native Somaliland

London-The Head of Dahabshil money transfer company Mr Abdirashid Duale has been named as one of the 50 most influential Africans by the prestigious magazine Africa Report.

This was an opportunity for Somalilanders like Duale to introduce his real country of birth Somaliland to the World and more importantly to Africa.

Africa because the world seems to bush the Somaliland issue to Africa.

Mr Duale seems to have preferred to promote and pass as a Somali rather then the Somalilander he and his company are.

Mr Dualle the head of Dahabshiil Group the worlds largest money transfer company has its roots in Somaliland.

Yet on the Africa Report, he comes of as a Somalia Success rather than the Somaliland phenomena his company is.

With over 2,000 employees in 149 countries Dahabshiil transfers more than $1 billion US dollars from Daispora to Somalis in the Horn of Africa.

Somaliland may not have some of the issues that plague their brothers in Somalia,but they could have used this spot light to bettar  promote their aspirations of nationhood to the rest of the world.

Somaliland unilaterally went back on the Union of Somaliland and Somalia in 196o after independence from Britain and Italy successively.

but after 30 years of political domination and the failure to achieve greater Somalia, followed by a brutal civil war in 1991,Somaliland negated on the union.

Though Somaliland has achieved a monumental goals such as elections and peace building initiatives,world recognition eludes them.
