Brazil calls Israel out on Gaza violence

Brasilia February 20, 2024(QJ)  -Brazil recalled its ambassador to Israel on Monday, hours after Israeli Foreign Minister Katz declared that President Lula would not be welcome in Israel, escalating tensions between the two nations.
According to a statement released by the Brazilian Foreign Ministry, Brazil’s Foreign Minister, Mauro Vieira, summoned Brazil’s ambassador to Tel Aviv, Frederico Meyer.
On Monday, Israel stated that Lula would not be welcomed in their country until he retracted his statements criticizing Israel’s actions in Gaza and the Holocaust.
President Lula condemned the October 7th attack by Hamas militants against Israel, calling it “terrorism,” but he also criticized Israel’s attacks on Gaza, which resulted in the deaths of over 29,000 people.
