Another Lawmaker killed in Mogadishu Somalia
Mogadishu (SDN)-Somalia’s Al-Qaida affiliates Al Shabab claimed responsibility for murdering the fifth Somali MP of 2014 in the restive capital Mogadishu.
Witnesses told somalidiasporanews.com that Sheikh Adan Madeer had succumbed to a hail of bullets from masked men in a vehicle.
The deceased MP was coming back from Friday’s prayers at a nearby Mosque to his home in downtown Mogadishu.
Sheikh Adan Madeer was the head of the Somali parlimrnt’s committee for finance.
Shabab spokesperson Abu Musab released a statement praising the culprit’s for the murder.
Both Somali president and Prime minster had condemned the murder and called it a cowardly act.
The murder of the latest MP comes after weeks of unrest in the Somali capital, and days after the murder of Sado Ali Warsame a prominent Somali singer turned politician.
Madeer would be the fifth Somali MP murdered in the capital Mogadishu since the beginning of the year
