According to Islam educating our children, both male and females is obligatory to all us
Education is the undeniable and indispensable right of children everywhere. It is fundamentally important that we accord the advancement and development of our communities and regions a top priority by investing in the futures of our children, and wholeheartedly embracing the humanitarian, communal and benevolent culture of Islam. In this regard, the lofty goal of establishing a primary school in camp role by a visionary and humanitarian group of people hailing from this area and its immediate environs is almost at its intended end. It is a small step aimed at insuring that the children in this part of Ethiopia (Somali region of Ethiopia) are given a good quality education, a fundamental human right, for which I think, the collective will power of our community, has for too long shied away. Owing to the great amount of dedication and diligence shown by the team, the first phases (including the construction of two classrooms) of this very crucial project has now been completed successfully.
The next phase is one of delivery, maintenance, expansion and management; suitable teachers would have to be recruited, relevant curriculum deployed and initiated, proper administrative and oversight procedures enacted, and vital further resources such as energy and water leveraged in order to expand the facilities and provisions of the school in the immediate and foreseeable future. For this to become possible, the school, first and foremost, needs the continued support of our (Reer Roble) community, and if it is feasible that of the regional government of the Somali region of Ethiopia. The solemn contributions of other entities, such as charitable and NGO
organisations, as well as benevolent philanthropic individuals is also most welcomed. Your esteemed and charitable leadership in this noble endeavor will be very much appreciated and rewarded by ALLAH, the almighty, immensely inshaALLAH. I believe that if we pull our resources, expertise, skills and accumulated experiences together and recognize the true value and worth of education, something enduringly worthwhile can be accomplished for these children. We owe it to these children to charitably assume the noble role of attempting to forge a better future for them. It is often said that education is our passport to the future, for most certainly tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today. Moreover, it is also said that to give a man a bowl of rice is to feed him for a day, BUT to teach him how to grow his own rice is to save his life. Conferring education on these children will mean they will no longer envisage a life of brute poverty and the paucity of life’s bare essentials: food, clothes and shelter. Conferring education on these children will mean, they, their families, community and country can be uplifted and transformed for the better through the power and clout of education. I thought it apt to end this piece with the following from the Norwegian writer, Jostein Gaarder who tellingly and potently asserts that ‘a community that does not educate and train its young is like a person who only trains his right arm. Camp Roble is settlement in Somali region of Ethiopia earlier known ad Zone five which is located around 15 kilometer south of the famous road known as “QAAXO”
