Breaking News: Leaked Documents Show Somaliland government’s decision to take control of its airspace Before Istanbul Agreement

Hargeisa, July 14, 2013 (SDN) — Somaliland government has decided to take full control of its airspace, the Medeshivalley website reported Today, quoting from documents it said came from Somaliland’s minister of civil aviation.

The leaked document is an official letter dated 5th July which Somaliland’s minister of civil aviation sent to CACAS project manager and United Nations’ Special Representative to Somalia and Somaliland Ambassador Nicholas Kay notifying that Somaliland’s decision to take control of its airspace

Meanwhile two days after the minister’s letter Somaliland and the Somalia agreed during their second round of unity talks in Istanbul held Sunday to Tuesday (July 7th-9th) to establish a joint committee in Hargeisa to manage air traffic control and equitable revenue sharing.
