President Silanyo Wows Deaf Students with Sign Language Response (Pictures)

Hargeisa, June 16, 2013 (SDN) – Somaliland President H.E Ahmed Mohamed Mohamoud ‘Silanyo’ met on today with deaf student at the presidential palace. The president’s meeting with the deaf students was also attended by the vice president Abdirahman Zaylici, presidency minister Hirsi Haji Ali, education minister Samsam Abdi Adam, Finance minister Abdiaziz Mohamed Samale, minister of livestock Dr. Abdi Aw Dahir, agriculture minister Farah Elmi Gedole and the first lady Amina Weris. During the meeting, President Silanyo delighted deaf students when he spoke to them in sign language.  President Silanyo pointed to the importance of academic achievements of the deaf students, promising to consider the needs of the deaf students.

The principals of the five different schools discussed the plight of deaf students. The deaf students were representatives of five different schools in Hargeisa, Borama, Buroa and Gabiley.
