Somalia President Condemns Al Shabaab Attack in Kenya that Left 6 People Dead
Mogadishu, 27 May 2013(SDN) –Somalia President, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, has issued a statement strongly condemning an attack by Al Shabaab operatives on two police posts in Liboi on Saturday. The attack in Liboi led the deaths of at least six people, two of whom were police officers. Two other people are said to have been abducted. Al Shabaab claimed responsibility for the attack on a post on Twitter. President Mohamud sent a message of condolence to the families that have lost loved ones saying the attack shows why “we all have to strive to eliminate the Al Shabaab from the world.” The Somali President also thanked East African nations for contributing troops to the AMISON force in Somalia which has been fighting Al Shabaab militiamen for more than a year now.
