Somalia’s Council of Ministers Approves Different Proposed Legislations

 

Mogadishu May 16 2013 (SDN)– The Somalia Council of Ministers has approved has on today approved new counter-terrorism bill together submitted by the national security ministry and justice ministry.  This was confirmed by Somalia’s information minister Abdilahi Elmi Hirsi who spoke to the press after the meeting. The minister also added that the cabinet fully endorsed the bill after heated discussion. The new bill will be submitted to the parliament for approval. The cabinet also praised the efforts made by the information ministry to regain the control of Somalia’s airspace. Somalia’s information, posts and telecommunications ministry has last week declared the move to regain Somalia’s airspace after meeting with officials from the United Nations Development Program and representatives from Civil Aviation Caretaker Authority of Somalia (CACAS) based in Nairobi.  The meeting officially declared transfer supervision of the country’s airspace to Somalia federal government in Mogadishu. Similarly, the cabinet also approved seven different legislations such as Foreign Service Law. The information minister also pointed out that the council approved the re-establishment of Somalia’s port agency.
