New Addition to Hargeisa’s International Airport Unveiled

Hargeisa (SDN) -The Vice President of Somaliland Mr. Abdirahman Abdillahi Ismail (Sayli’i) cut the ribbon on a development project that was completed at the Egal International Airport in the nation’s capital today alongside the Ministers of Aviation and Public Works.

The project is part of a larger development scheme to revamp Hargeisa’s airport.  The completion of construction on a new section of the airport was unveiled by the officials who explored the building. The new addition has state of the art equipment which will help establish Hargeisa’s airport as a world class flight centre. The improvements include passenger screening tools, cameras and digital finger printing technology.

The Vice President also toured the site of the 2km long future terminal that is expected to start construction soon. The development of the new terminal is being supported by the UNDP.

Officials from the Aviation Ministry informed the Vice President on the project’s progress and closures expected to resume after two weeks to accommodate the construction.
