Puntland launches an investigation in all foreigners in Bossaso
BOSSASO (QJ) – The Bari Regional Security Committee held a meeting today in Bossaso and announced that they will conduct an investigation into all foreign nationals residing in the city to ensure they are not affiliated with terrorist groups.
Colonel Abdiqadir Jama Dirir, the Police Commander of Bari Region, read out the resolutions from the meeting, stating that authorities will screen all foreigners in Bosaso and the wider Bari region to prevent potential terrorist infiltration.
“Since the terrorist groups we are fighting largely consist of foreign fighters, we have instructed investigative units to verify the backgrounds of all foreigners in the region, especially in Bosaso, to ensure they are not being used by terrorist organizations. Many have managed to blend in and need to be properly investigated,” said the commander.
He also announced that carrying weapons in Bosaso is now prohibited and that tinted vehicle windows are banned to prevent terrorists from using them for concealment, which could pose a threat to security and stability.
