Doctors Against Genocide has called for the United States to halt military aid to Israel

Washington (QJ) –  The international coalition of healthcare workers known as Doctors Against Genocide has called for the United States to halt military aid to Israel after Israeli forces arrested their colleagues in Gaza last month.

The group mobilized more than 50 medical experts on Capitol Hill to advocate for the release of Hussam Abu Safiya, the director of the Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza, which was destroyed. He was detained along with others during the December 27 Israeli raid on the medical facility.

Steve Berman, a member of Doctors Against Genocide, expressed deep concern over the suffering in Gaza, the forced detention of doctors, and the deliberate killing of innocent civilians.

“This should have never happened. If you can, please stop it. No—it’s not if you can, I know you can. But please stop supporting the Israeli government because they are killing innocent people,” said Berman, a retired cardiologist, speaking to Anadolu Agency.
