WHO accuses Israel of its continued blockade of northern Gaza

NY (QJ) – The World Health Organization (WHO) has reported that an international medical team urgently needed at Kamal Adwan Hospital has not been allowed to enter as Israel continues its blockade of northern Gaza.

Hanan Balkhy, the WHO Regional Director for the Eastern Mediterranean, also condemned the repeated attacks on healthcare facilities. “The fear experienced by hospital staff and patients over the past few days is indescribable – and it is unacceptable,” she wrote on X.

The UN health agency representative stated that the hospital lacks the capacity for maternal and neonatal care.

WHO was instead able to deliver supplies to al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, Balkhy said.
