Hezbollah launches 180 rockets into northern Israel

Beirut October 04, 2024(QJ) -Israeli forces have reported that at least 180 rockets were fired from southern Lebanon into northern Israel, the majority of which were intercepted by the Iron Dome missile defense system.

However, many rockets landed in open areas, causing large fires that local firefighters are still trying to extinguish.

The Israeli military stated that their presence in Lebanon aims to stop the rocket attacks and dismantle Hezbollah’s military capabilities.

They indicated that they have two main objectives: first, to restore the balance of power along the border, which means wanting to destroy Hezbollah; and second, to allow Israeli residents to return to towns and areas near the northern border.

The Israeli military and the defense minister expressed surprise that Hezbollah has not yet deployed its full capabilities but stated they are prepared to act from land, air, and sea.
