Landmine explosion targets SNA

MOGADISHU (QJ) -A roadside landmine explosion occurred today on the highway connecting Mogadishu and Afgooye, specifically near the Garasbaley district in the Banadir region. The blast was heard in parts of Mogadishu and its outskirts.

According to reports, the explosion targeted a government military vehicle traveling on the highway. It has been reported that the blast caused casualties among the soldiers in the targeted vehicle as well as among civilians.

Following the explosion, Somali security forces arrived at the scene and conducted a search operation. No arrests related to the planted landmine have been reported yet.

This incident comes shortly after a suicide attack and direct assault by Al-Shabaab on Lido Beach in Mogadishu, which resulted in nearly 40 deaths and over 200 injuries.
