EU called on Israel to immediately end its military operation in Rafah

Brussels May 16, 2024(QJ) -The European Union today called on Israel to immediately end its military operation in Rafah.

They warned that if Israel insists on continuing its operation, it will damage the relationship between Israel and the European Union.

“If Israel continues its military operation in Rafah, it will certainly put great strain on the relationship between the European Union and Israel,” said a statement issued by the organization, signed by the EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Josep Borrell.

Israel began an operation that has long been warned against in the Rafah area of Gaza, where more than 1.5 million people who have fled other parts of Gaza have gathered. There are fears that if a conflict breaks out there, it will cause unimaginable humanitarian disaster.
