Israeli forces kill ten Aid workers in Gaza
Gaza April 02, 2024 (QJ) -The United Nations and some countries around the world are condemning in the strongest terms the killing of at least ten employees of the World Central Kitchen organization in Gaza
Israeli forces targeted charity workers from Poland, the UK, the United States, Australia, Palestine, and others, who were delivering aid to the needy in Gaza.
The United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, Martin Griffiths, has described the killing of charity workers as appalling, calling them heroes. He emphasized that those who target vulnerable people must be held accountable.
The World Food Program (WFP) described the attack on the charity as unacceptable.
The World Health Organization (WHO) also described this attack as insane.
The European Union also noted that this action shows the need for an immediate ceasefire.
China has also condemned the killing of ten humanitarian workers in Gaza.
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken confirmed that the United States discussed with Israel the killing of at least Ten aid workers, urging for a swift, thorough, and independent investigation.
The British government has stated that it will seek detailed information on the killing of British aid workers in Gaza, their foreign affairs office announced on Tuesday.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the Israeli forces’ actions, saying they “unintentionally struck innocent people in the Gaza Strip” in comments on Tuesday.
Netanyahu’s remarks came after at least ten aid workers from World Central Kitchen were killed in Gaza. Israeli defense forces announced on Tuesday that they would investigate the ” at the highest levels”.
