Security Commander Bans illicit Drug use in Mogadishu

Mogadishu March 20, 2024 (QJ) -The operational commander of the local protection force in Mogadishu Sharma’arke Caddow Tuur-Yare stated that the local government is determined to fight against drugs.

Speaking to the press at his office, the commander stated that in recent days, there have been intensified operations targeting immorality and drugs, highlighting that they have raided locations where illegal drugs were sold and arrested those involved.

The commander of the neighborhood security forces in Xamar Sharma’arke Caddow Tuur-Yare urged the residents of the capital to cooperate with security agencies, especially the neighborhood security forces, and from now on Mogadishu residents are prohibited from selling different types of drugs.

Commander Sharma’arke concluded by urging parents to monitor their children closely as many of those involved in drugs are young and easily influenced.
