Hamas considering a new ceasefire plan
Paris February 01, 2024 (QJ) -Global efforts to find a lasting ceasefire in Gaza have intensified in recent days, as Israeli forces continue their intense military operations in Gaza. According to reports, Hamas is said to be considering a proposed plan for a six-month truce in Gaza. This development follows diplomatic talks held in Paris aimed at brokering a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.
Meanwhile, concerns are rising about the humanitarian situation in Gaza, particularly for the civilian population who are bearing the brunt of the conflict.
The negotiations in Paris involved Qatar, Egypt, the United States, and France. Israel is demanding a complete cessation of rocket fire from all factions in Gaza and, in return, pledges to halt its military operations throughout the Gaza Strip.
Hamas, on the other hand, is seeking an end to the blockade imposed by Israel, as well as a commitment to a significant easing of restrictions on the movement of people and goods.
